With just the spreading of the caliche for the driveway and cleaning up inside the house Jason & Lindsay will move in Saturday October 30th, 273 days from the first day of construction.

September 23rd,

Thank you Uncle Shelton for the dishwasher

September 23rd,

For about a month now we've been trying to get trying to get the walls to meet the ceiling in a straight line (white on top with earth tone on the walls).  It just goes to show you what paid professionals can do.

Many thanks to Scott Davis & Clayton Underwood for fixing our ceiling lines.  They look GREAT!

September 18th,

Mondo installs the doors

September 18th,

Cabinets are installed including the shelves.

September 16th,

September 15th,

Finish electrical is finished.  Permanent electricity is ordered for September 21st.

September 14th,

The first cabinet was hung in the kitchen.

September 13th,

Well sense we began our little house building project there has always been a utility pole toward the front of the property that serves electricity to one of the neighbors.  It's the one they put our temporary service on.

There are 3 poles that go almost the entire 1000 feed down the north side of the property.  As it turns out there is not an easement and since the first pole is right smack dab in the front yard we asked them to remove it. :)

Our friends at Taylor Electric agreed to switch the power supply to lateral lines (undergound) in exchange for the easement.

As apart of the process they are trimming up all the trees down the fence line so they can remove the old aerial service and trench the underground lines.

Here two Taylor Electric employees are using GPS to mark where they want to line buried.  WOW, we've really gone high tech.
Here the ASPLUND trimming folks are working on taking out some of the trees.

September 7th, finally got through with the cabinets.  In this pic Carter is drilling pocket holes for a drawer support.

Thank you Carter for helping out!

At 534 the painting is finished and part of the finish electrical has been done.  Jason finished putting in the soffit vents.

August 26th, the first example of cabinets

August 19th, 2010

Well it has been one month but a lot has happened out at 534.

We did all the mud tape and texture (no pictures because you can not see the results.)

Floor Cleaning

The first cabinet carcass for the kids bath is done.

We had a little redo with the mud tape and texture in Shayden's because on unnamed Pa Pa did not get the initial mud and tape correct but all is well.

In the rest of the house the whole Carrillo crew is in full force and are making great strides in finishing the painting.  Thank you Thomas for your help!

Mondo is still helping, thank you so much

Lindsay has been pitching in a lot and things would not be the same without you.

Monday July 19th, we finished sheet rocking 534.  All we like is the corner bead and then we can mud, tape and texture.
Saturday July 17th, Jason puts the finishing touches on sheet rocking the great room.

July 14th Thank you Miranda for coming and cleaning up for us.  It makes a big difference.

July 12th Shayden & Isaiah's room sheetrocked.

Thank you Timothy for supplying the jetted tub in the master bath.
One of our big victories July 3rd was  Melanie leading the burning of those infamous mesquite trees and all the trash we've accumulated since January 30th.

Most folks don't know it,  but in the Jones' household there is always this appearance that I might be the risk taker, but in reality when rubber starts meeting road it is Melanie that will forge ahead.

For months Jason and I both have been afraid to light the fire because of all the things that might happen.

Melanie just said to heck with it and got up early, called the sheriff to get the burn okayed and got that sucker to burning.

It took 10 gallons of gasoline and over 25 dollars before she finally got it going.  Way to go honey! Thank you and I STILL LOVE YOU!

To finish off how good the day was, that is  Jason Carrillo hanging sheetrock in the living room.  Jason, Arturo and Mondo worked hard and finished the great room.

All we have left on the ceilings is the master bedroom area and garage.

It isn't going to be long before we will be mudding and taping.

June 23rd, Thank you Melanie for cleaning, AGAIN :)

June 22nd, Jason and Mondo hanging the first pieces of sheetrock.

June 21st, Lindsay painting the porch siding.

June 18th, Finally, brick and siding finished, windows are all in.  We are all the way dried in.

June 17th, The Angel De Leon Family.  What a blessing to have Angel and his family bricking the house.

Angel, Thomas and Candy do most of the laying while the girls help out by mixing mud and positioning the next set of bricks to keep the boys going.

Three year old Xavier is really the one in charge.

Thank you all for doing a conscientious job!

Tuesday June 15th.  Lake Lindsay again.  The redeeming thing was that the roof held water.  Thank you Mondo!

Monday June 14th.  The day finally came that we get to put brick on the house and boy does it look fantastic.

The Angel De Leon family is laying the brick and so far it sure looks good.  They were so nice, our windows were not furred out far enough so they installed the rowlock.

Friday June 11th.  Jason helped finish putting in the windows.

June 8th, this picture shows Mondo and his brother Rick on one face with Thomas and Jason on a different one.  Guys you did a great job, thank you!

June 7th, we are making nice progress again after some delays.

Rick & Mondo

Thanks so much for boosting the shingles.

May 22nd.  With lots of effort and help from our friends we finally got the building decked and felted with lattice strips covering the edges.

Here you can see Mondo and his brother Rick boosting the shingles.

This is always a blessed time because the building is about to become less vulnerable to the elements.

May 13th we finally began to get the building decked.

WOW! May has not been easy.  We had over 9 inches of rain in about a week that for the most part shut work down.

Here you can see Mondo placing the first piece of decking.

May 1st, we finished setting the trusses.  Jason did a fantastic job of wrestling the the trusses from out in the yard all the way up into the house.  Thanks again Mondo for your help.

April 30th, what a big difference cleaning up can make.  Thank you Lindsay, Melanie & Rebecca.

April 28th, Mondo came to our rescue again.  These pictures show him ridding a stack of trusses to get us started setting them on centers.  Thanks again Mondo, you are the best.

Boosting the trusses was done by Jason, Thomas, Arturo and Dane.  Thanks so much for you help, we would have had to go rent a crane without you.

April 26th, the first truss.  You should have seen Thomas and Jason smile.  It was worth the work.

After a rainy spell we got back to building trusses.  This picture shows Thomas and Jason getting after it.  Not shown is Mondo who spent about 3 days helping out.

April 10th, Framing.

It was so nice to have Jason's father come out and help.  Thank you Rudy for your hard work.  It was a big blessing for Jason to get to work on his house with his dad.

It was pretty impressive, Lindsay managing Carter, Sha Sha & Corn Flake while wrecking some extra corners we had build.  You are the best Le Le, love DAD

April 5th, more walls.  Thank you Melanie for helping.

April 4th, first walls.  Thanks to Bryan and Rebecca for painting our beams and help standing up the first walls.

April 3rd T's and Corners for the framing.

After a few days rest we had the lumber delivered and pre-cut the T's, corners and lintels for the wall framing.  Yea! we are finally out of the dirt.

Many thanks to Thomas for helping out, you made a bid difference.

March 25th, POUR DAY.

It was a long hard battle with lots of delays from the weather but we finally made it.

534 has a slab; a good one.

Thanks to everyone who contributed for your help!

March 20th, snow and ice.  We are about 8 inches ahead of our yearly rain fall for the year.  The snow and ice was proceeded on Friday evening the 19th with rain that completely filled our ditches.

These two pictures show the snow and what I fondly refer to as lake Lindsay.  Love you daughter :)

We hope everything will dry out enough for us to finish the foundation work and pour the slab by Thursday the 25th but there is ran forecasted for Wednesday.

March 14th, thank you Brook for helping with the brick ledge.  It made a big difference.

March 13th, the steel.  Jason & Mondo worked very hard Saturday afternoon and evening and completed tying the steel.  We can begin to see the day coming that we will pour the slab.

March 6th, what a difference some help makes.  We are so thankful for everyone that came to help spread sand.  Many thanks to Miranda, Ashley, Melanie, Rebecca, Bryan, Jamie Lara, Sapo Deanda, Tim and Mondo for your contribution.

In just a couple of hours Mark was able to straighten out our war zone, take down the northeast corner of the property that was high from farming and totally fill in our small stock pond.  WOW! Thanks so much for your contribution.

February 28th, Mark McMillan came with his BobCat and boy did he make a huge difference!

February 27th, what a beautiful day. We had great weather from morning till dark, warm temperatures and no wind and did we take advantage of it.  We almost completed the entire DWV in a single day.

February 23rd, was more snow.  This is a snow-woman that Bryan & Rebecca built at the McMillan's house.  Fully done with buttons :)

Many thanks to Mondo for digging our grade beams.  Yes, that's right, by hand!

February 19th, 2010 the forms are set, straight and square.  If you see Jason, ask him what 74' 2 1/4th inches means.

So the plumbing now goes in the roof. WOW!

February 13th & 14th, 2010
Forms for the slab.

So we have this dog (Jack) who loves to go to 534.  The first days at the job site we noticed there was a dead skunk out by the road.  We still don't understand, but each visit, Jack initiates the whole routine by greeting the dead skunk dog style.

February 12th, 2010
The thaw, boy was it muddy.

February 10th 2010
The SNOW!!!

It was pretty interesting, Lindsay trying to tippy toe through the clods and mud to bring Jason a drink and some medicine.

We would have never made it without Bryan's help.  He was able to enjoy some of his time out on the farm though.

February 5th and 6th we cleared trees using a grubbing instrument on a skid loader.  Bryan came and helped stack trees while Jason ran the skid loader.  We worked Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon after church and we managed to get 175' cleared.

On January 30 we started clearing trees at 534 Old Coleman Highway.  This picture is of Jason finishing off the biggest tree on the lot.  It had to have been at least 70 years old.  It was so hard at the bottom we literally carved it out and in the end Jason pushed it over.
